"Hello, fans". "This is the spring training site". "Please look forward to it"
Three foreigners from Kiwoom Heroes greeted their fans.
On the 28th, Kiwoom posted a video greeting to fans of Yasiel Puig, Kenny Rosenberg and Ruben Cardinez, who joined the U.S. off-season training ground, on the club's SNS.안전놀이터
They all greeted each other in Korean. Puig said, "Hello, fans," and Rosenberg said, "This is the set of spring training." Puig said, "Please look forward to it a lot in the future," and Puig concluded, "Thank you."
Their pronunciation in Korean is amazing, however. Notably, Kadynes was very accurate and surprising. Kadynes stayed with the Samsung Lions for a while last year. Puig's pronunciation is very smooth, maybe because he is in Korea for a season. He can become a naturalized citizen.
Kiwoom has replaced all three foreign players ahead of this season. He released the right of hold without renewing contracts with pitchers Jesus and Furado. Heysus signed with KT Wiz, and Furado wore a Samsung uniform.
Kiwoom showed an exceptional performance, especially consisting of two out of three foreigners as hitters.
Puig, who returned to Kiwoom for the first time in three years, hit 0.277 131 hits, 21 home runs, 73 RBIs and an OPS (on-base plus slugging) of 0.841 in the 2022 season.
After the season, Kiwoom sought to renew his contract with Puig, but gave up accompanying him when he was involved in an illegal sports gambling case.
Since then, Puig has moved between Venezuela and the Dominican Winter League and the Mexican League.
Cardinez, who entered the KBO League as a substitute for the Samsung Lions in July last year, hit 0.333 with two home runs and five RBIs in seven games before leaving the team due to side pain.
Left-hander Rosenberg pitched 719 ⅔ innings in 163 games in the Minor League, recording 52 wins and 38 losses with an ERA of 4.06. In the Major League, he recorded two wins and three losses with an ERA of 4.66 in 17 games.
Attention is focusing on how Kiwoom, which has changed the weight of its batters due to the joining of Puig and Cardinez, will create synergy with domestic batters.
